Schlitz Audubon Nature Center

Green Tree Garden Club has a long-standing relationship with Schlitz Audubon Nature Center and remains committed to supporting its conservation efforts and its programs. GTGC has frequent work days on the center's grounds and provides grants to selected projects. Most recently (July 2020), the club contributed $5000 to Schlitz's "Spark!," a program designed for people going through cognitive changes to learn about the simple beauty found in nature and how it enriches our lives.

Click on the link below to learn more about the Schlitz habitat restoration efforts that are currently underway.

Harbor District, Inc. - Revitalizing Milwaukee's Urban Waterfront

In May 2019, the Green Tree Garden Club presented an $8000 check to Dan Adams, Planning Director for Harbor District, Inc. (HDI) These funds will be used toward providing green space for Harbor View Plaza, located just east of the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences on the Milwaukee Harbor. The Plaza will include a play structure for children, a water play area, green space for all to enjoy and a canoe kayak and launch dock. This project supports the HDI mission of revitalizing Milwaukee’s urban waterfront in a manner that will be successful economically, environmentally and socially for the next century.
